Things I think about…

Save Water

leave a comment »

There is a lot of media buzz about running out of fresh water lately, particularly in the western part of the U.S. I have a modest proposal, which, I think, will help fill the demand for fresh, clean water, and make us more responsible for our environment.

It is really very simple. Just have all the cities that are on rivers put their fresh water intakes downstream from their waste water outflow. That’s it. Then the cities will be very, very sure that the water they are dumping back into the river is clean enough to drink, because they will have to drink it. The water gets recycled locally and cuts the need for fresh water from upstream. And any water that city 1 doesn’t use and flows down to city 2 is clean.
